The world around him was still, filled only with the soft whispers of the wind and the gentle rustle of the tall grass swaying under its tender caress. Barreltender peppered the landscape, their spines glimmering under the nascent light as they woke for the day, creating a scene both serene and beautiful.Wordless he packed up his camping gear, taking in the quietude before he'd have to start up the road once more. Each step felt intentional, a connection to the earth beneath his boots, allowing the peace of the moment to seep deep into his bones as the last of his gear was tucked away.Then, with a practiced motion, he moved to pick up his guitar and his gunblade and wondered- not for the first time- which one he'd be using for the day.

Hey there, my name is Ashe! I've had Bastille as a DnD character long before I got seriously into FFXIV, maintaining him as one of my favorite characters to write mini prompts about long after the campaign ended. Letting go of his rams horns and jet black eyes hurt, but he still looks just as amazing as an Au Ra!

Bastille is one that is open to being talked to out of the blue. He's willing to compliment, chat, prattle about most anything and everything at all really. He's also willing to listen, quiet as a wheat field, to anything that troubles you. So if you'd like to talk or just vent, he's here for any of it! So ping me if you'd like his attention!Plotting is another story, unless you are from Shaaloani or Tural in general chances are you have not met him outside of the Lantern's glow. Mentioning the Hingan or Doman culture would spark his interest, as would any songs or music from the regions if your WoL knows them.

backstory.

Hailing from Shaaloani's outskirts, Bastille doesn't seem to mind the fact he and his mother are outliers in the region. Having fled Eorzea ages ago his mother had raised her son as far from war as she could, and it certainly shows how it's settled in him now that he's grown. Accent thick, laid back personality and charming at times, he's become a powerhouse at pulling attention to himself to the point his gunblade became second to his most used skill- music.As a bard he left home and started his travels, exploring as much of Tural as he could. When reaching the capitol he caught wind of ships going to and from the once tumultuous Eorzean continent with surprising ease. So despite her warning him to be cautious, he set off to discover the culture his mother had left behind.

Playing music. not the banjos you're thinking of. Bastille sings with a guitar or violin/fiddle and sings in low sultry tones.
Making art infused with magic. to help tell stories he uses his bardic magic to make the art he draws lift from the pages to become tangible. They barely move if at all, but it's a delight to him to see people's reactions.
Sharpshooting. Can never get too cocky and say you're the best, practice makes for a good calming technique too.

Rule 1.

21 +

21+ is my rule, I do not want to RP with anyone younger. I do not mind assisting strangers in dungeons and in battles (i.e. FATES and the like) just not interested in RPs with anyone younger than that. Maturity factors into this as well. We are adults, and I will refuse to RP with anyone playing a minor or is IRL a minor.

NO ONE UNDER 21 ! !

Rule 2.

No God-modding

We roll dice in a fight, it makes any confrontations more by chance and fair for everyone. If you feel like your character absolutely can take on Bastille, and you choose to forego this rule, he will get a +250 to damage and after the fight you will be blocked. Do not expect him to be anything but civil in interactions after if you choose this.

Rule 3.

Not the WoL

You do not have to read it all, you can ask him about it if you wish or you can ask me OOC about having past connections to Bastille. You don't have to know it all to get to know him, but I'd like his story to be respected as canon for him. Bastille is not present for any WoL storyline save for events in Shaaloani during Dawntrail.

Rule 4.

Power-players and Mary Sues

Power-playing occurs when a player operates someone's character without the other player's consent. The most blatant example of this would be a player writing, "Your character falls off the cliff when he walks up to it." Do not take active control of what Bastille or anyone else outside your own WoL does. Mary sues are self- explanatory; everyone has flaws, and the most fun ocs have a few too, so be sure to include a few into rp! (It's worth it, trust me)

Rule 5.

I am not my character

PLEASE know the difference between RP and OOC! I am not Bastille, nor am I consenting to an IRL relationship just because Bastille is consenting to one in game. This rule also goes for Bastille not getting along with someone else's oc. It does not mean I hate you or dislike you out of character, people need a bit of conflict of interest and personalities to help shape being friends down the road! Some of the best storyline friends are the ones that think the other is a pain in the ass first!

IRL is not IC and vice versa

Mental Health, Slow-Replies and the like

I am a strong advocate for IRL health and situations come first. If you have to put our RP on hold, or your character needs to have a hard reset because you are not enjoying where their path is going I understand. I also wouldn't mind being an in for if you have to do so but wish to get to know Bastille or anyone he knows again. If you have been low on spoons and are afraid it's been too long between posts to talk to me, please do not worry! I'm glad to say hello in any capacity you can handle and want the best for you and your WoL!
